What are Ombre Powder Brows?

Ombre Powder Brows is the classic look of powder brows: sleek and intense, it is created using outlines. The result gives a real make-up look and is also called the 'Instagram Brow'.

This technique is most often chosen by younger clients (up to 25 years) who like a very clean designer brow.

We recommend this technique for normal or combination skin types.

What are Dusty Ombre Powder Brows?

Akira's Signature brows!

Through an entirely new treatment technique, using the latest equipment and cartridges, the colour is very gently blended into the skin! This is the perfect technique if you want your brows to be on fleek 24/7, to have a perfect shape, if you suffer from open/ bald spots in your brows or if you are missing a part (e.g. no front or no end).

Ideal technique if you like ultra natural results, without (too many) lines/edges and definitely NOT a tattoo effect! This technique heals so naturally that it is untraceable and gives the most realistic colour effects.

Dusty ombre brows are also the best if you like FLUFFY and looks where you uplift the hair with a gel or browlifting.

Dusty Ombre Brows technique is suitable for all skin types and ages!

What is "OMBRE STROKES" Technique?"

Ombre Strokes is a technique in which a hyper-realistic look is created by alternating hairstrokes with ombre shading, creating very beautiful 3D effects and making it look like there are real hairs in places where there are none.

As the technique is extremely delicate, it cannot be used on every skin. We recommend this technique if you have (almost) no natural hair of your own and if your skin type has a fine pore structure.

What is "Cover-Up Correction Brows"?

Cover-up treatment consists of a new set of brows for new clients who have been previously tattooed and/or microbladed, but not by Akira! The treatment consists of a colour & shape correction.

⁃ Before booking, please send clear photos of your eyebrows via whatsapp, so that the Artist can view them and advise if a cover-up is possible.

⁃ The new shape must cover the old shape and cannot be narrower/thinner than the old pmu shape.

The treatment lasts about 3 hours.

⁃ The treatment requires at least 2 sessions (the first session + 1st touch-up) to achieve the desired look. For major colour corrections, some clients may need to come back for a third session (not included in the price).

Do I need to come for an intake beforehand to discuss everything?

We have summarised all the information you need to know about our treatments as clearly as possible on this FAQ page. You will also receive additional information about the precaution and aftercare measures by email with your appointment confirmation. Because we provide all the information in such detail in advance, a separate appointment for an intake is no longer necessary.

Why is a Touch-Up treatment necessary within 4 to 6 weeks?

The touch-up treatment serves to dot all the i's and cross all the t's. It may be that during healing a spot heals lighter, for example because a scab has fallen off earlier, or simply because the pigment has taken a lighter hold in certain areas. During the touch-up treatment, we can finish off these small details.

When should the Touch-Up treatment be done?

To achieve the best result, the touch-up should be done within 4-6 weeks after the first session. A touch-up treatment is included in the price of each first setting if done within 6 weeks of the first session (appointment). If it is scheduled later than 6 weeks, a fee will be charged.

Please note: eyebrow care is also essential after the touch-up treatment and the same rules apply as after the first treatment (see: What can I do and not do in the first days/weeks after treatment).

How long does the result of a treatment (including Touch-Up) remain beautiful?

This depends on a number of factors, such as skin type (oily, dry, combination, normal), whether the skin is young or mature, skin care rituals, sports activities, sun exposure, hormones and medicine use. On average, the result of manual technique remains beautiful between 10 - 12 months, and machine technique between 12 - 24 months. The colour of the pigments will gradually become lighter and sometimes "duller" with time, as the body slowly breaks down the molecules. This is completely normal considering we work with a technique that is semi-permanent (not permanent!).
Just as you do maintenance to refresh/update your hair colouring, we also recommend a 'colour refresh' treatment, once a year, to keep your brows perfect.

- Results last 1-3 years, depending on skin type, skin care, aftercare, sun exposure, etc.

Will I have to undergo a completely new treatment after one or two years?

Depending on when you think your eyebrows are too light, you can come back for a refreshment treatment also called "annual touch-up". For this treatment special rates apply, depending on the time between the first appointment. If your touch-up treatment is done within 12 months after your first setting (first appointment), you will receive a 50% discount on the then current treatment price. If you come back for the touch-up treatment between 12-24 months after your first setting (first appointment), you will receive a 30% discount on the then current treatment price. Current treatment prices can be found on our site at "PRICING".

How is the right shape, colour & technique determined?

On the day of your treatment, before we actually start the treatment, we discuss all the possibilities regarding which technique is best and together we also determine the most beautiful shape for your face. The shape is always customised by looking at your unique facial characteristics, your contours, your bone structure and of course your own eyebrows. We never work with standard shapes or templates! Our philosophy: we want to accentuate and perfect the work of Mother Nature and therefore unique measuring and brow-desigging is essential.

Does Ombre Powder Brows Treatment hurt?

Pain level is very well controlled by all our tricks and super advanced techniques. Most clients compare it to the feeling of tweezing the eyebrows.

How long does an Ombre Powder Brows Treatment last?

We always take the time for each treatment in order to create the perfect brows to suit your needs. The first appointment takes on average 2.5 hours (including explanation, preliminary drawing of the shape, colour determination and setting).

How long does the skin take to heal after treatment?

If you follow all our aftercare instructions properly, the (thin) scabs/cells will have disappeared from the skin within 5 to 10 days. However, the complete healing of the skin takes about 4 to 6 weeks. During these weeks, the colour is in full development and the final result (colour + shape) can only be seen after 4 weeks.
- The healing process with scabs takes +/- 7-14 days. The complete healing process takes +/- 30 days.

How do I best care for my eyebrows after the treatment?

To achieve the results we want, the aftercare is at least as important as the treatment itself. Therefore, it is essential to follow all our aftercare instructions carefully! You have already received the instructions by e-mail prior to scheduling your appointment, so that you can schedule your appointment at a time when you can perfectly follow all the advice. After the treatment, the aftercare instructions will be explained again and you will receive all information on paper.

Your specialist will give you all the products you need to take care of your skin perfectly (ointment, serum and protection cream) after the treatment.
