Precautions for Permanent Makeup (PMU)

When considering a permanent makeup treatment, it is very important to take some precautions to ensure that the treatment is safe and effective. Here are some important guidelines and requirements to consider before making an appointment:

Before treatment:

1. Previous PMU or Microblading treatments: If you have previously had a Microblading or PMU treatment, please first send a clear photo via WhatsApp . This allows us to assess whether a non-laser removal is necessary or whether a cover-up treatment is possible.

2. Health declaration: Before you undergo treatment, you must complete a health declaration. It is your responsibility to read this document carefully and ensure that you can be treated - or not treated.

3. Medication use and skin problems: Let us know in advance if you use medication daily, have specific skin problems, have allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to specific products or ingredients.

We do not treat the following cases:

- During pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- For irritated skin of the eyebrows (for example bumps, eczema, flakes).
- If you had fillers injected less than 2 months ago and/or botox injected less than 1 month ago.
- If you have had a (chemical) peeling, micro needling and/or laser facial treatment less than 2 months ago.
- In case of an active outbreak of the Herpes virus (for example a cold sore).
- On a scar that is less than 6 months old.
- When using Retin-A products (with doctor's prescription) - up to 6 months after the last use.
- When using blood thinners, including ibuprofen and dafalgan.
- In a place where PMU was placed less than eight weeks ago.
- In a place where a tattoo removal/laser treatment was done less than eight weeks ago.
- For diabetes, epilepsy, active psoriasis, chronic skin diseases (including chronic eczema and contact allergy).
- In case of allergy to pigment substances, nickel and/or other materials used in PMU. If in doubt, ask your doctor.
- In case of serious cardiovascular abnormalities for which you are under active treatment.
- During chemotherapy treatments or radiation (up to 6 months after the last treatment).

Precautions for PMU treatments:

- Do not drink alcohol and/or caffeinated drinks (such as coffee, Red Bull, green tea, cola) and do not use drugs for at least 1 day (24 hours) prior to the treatment.
- Stop taking blood-thinning painkillers (only paracetamol is permitted), antibiotics and/or other medications at least 2 days (48 hours) prior to treatment.
- Stop taking nutritional supplements such as fish oil, omega 3-6, green tea preparations and vitamin E 5 days prior to treatment.
- Do not use a tanning bed or sunbathe in natural sunlight for at least 10 days prior to the treatment.
- Stop using products such as hormone ointments, vitamin A products, fruit acids and scrubs at least 7 days prior to the treatment.

Specific guidelines for different PMU treatments:

- Eyebrow treatment: Keep your eyebrows free from waxing, plucking, dyeing, henna, brow lifts/lamination and eyebrow waxing for 14 days prior to the treatment.

- Lip pigmentation treatment: Moisturize your lips well 3 days prior to the treatment. Rub them regularly with, for example, Bepanthen baby ointment or lip balm based on honey, butter or beeswax. If your lips are too dry before the treatment, with flakes, etc., it will be difficult to work optimally and the lip skin will not be able to absorb the color properly.

- Eyeliner treatment: Have eyelash extensions removed at least 7 days prior to the treatment and only replace them 30 days after the touch-up treatment.

Please note that we only work by appointment.
